I give Fancy Feast, 85g per can. Dine 80g per can. Recently I gave Fancy Feast Sensation because they're on special. Only sell AUD$0.50 per can at the supermarket. I'm not sure why so cheap, many people told me their cats won't eat that. Now my cats also don't eat. Not sure are they contamination. I check on the internet but not listed as a recall yet!

Oh good!!! I'm glad he's being seen by a Vet, and if he didn't recommend a certain diet than he should know.
Yes the 'fortekor will give him an appetite....it will be hard not to over feed, but somehow you will need to try, too much food will cause alot of discomfort as you saw.
Can I ask what type of food are you feeding. you said 11/2 cans of what?....just curious if another brand would help with his huge appetite (?)
Cats are always the King lol.
The vet review him every 3 months. The first 2 visits, vet gave him a steroid injection. The third visit, vet said he has improved (tell by blood test) so didn't need any needle. Just continue taking Fortekor 2.5mg daily.
The vet didn't recommend any diet for him. He said 1 and a half can will be enough but if it is the nice meal, of course he'll want more. He didn't put a restriction. The Fortekor suppose to make him in "Good appetite". I try to give him no salt diet as the vet forum nurse told me. When I cook fresh meat, I never put salt or oil or flavour. Just plain.
I don't know how to tell him "Can't have anymore". Normally he stops by himself if he is full. If he didn't has enough what he wants, he'll fight with others and making a lot of loud angry noise! He is like a "King"!
well first off yes he did eat way to much, its not healthy to be given so heavy a diet with renal disease or at anytime really....imagine how uncomfortable this bloating/swelling is for him.
isn't he on a 'special diet?'....he needs to be!
also his urine output should be monitored, if he should go into renal failure his bladder and his body will fill with fluid and this is an excruciatingly painful condition....he really needs some Vet care.
