young male cat recently nuetered.

I have a young 1 year old male cat named Mocha. He was neutered a week ago today but he just started vomiting. He still has a light appetite but he's been like that ever since we've had him. He has acted normal ever since the surgery. he's even been more energetic since then, but today he has been very drowsy, laid back, and sick... Is this normal? Im scheduling an appointment with the veterinarian tomorrow regardless, im very worried about him and even the tiniest bit of information would help atleast until i can get him to the vet... he is my baby and i dont know what i would do without him... any suggestions on what else i should/could do until then?

Hi there.  Hope Mocha is feeling better by now.  Does he have any other symptoms besides listless and vomiting and has he only vomited once or many times?  I know I didn't see this post until today but here's some info for you that if you can't use this time you may find helpful in the future.

1)  It could be from medication.  Antibiotics wreak havoc sometimes causing vomiting and/or diarrhea.  Also if he is on pain medication that causes nausea a lot of times.  If he gets worked up about taking the meds and they taste bitter this can cause him to vomit.  Also if he takes meds on empty tummy it can cause vomiting.  Although sometimes they vomit even if they have had food.  Tricky.

2)  If a kitty vomits once and acts ok it's not usually dangerous but if the vomiting continues take up all food for at least 12 hours to let his system calm down then introduce foods very slowly.

3)  If he vomits A LOT and won't keep water or anything down then you have to worry about him getting dehydrated also you have to wonder if there's something serious going on........my cat suddenly started vomiting badly a few months ago and he was diagnosed with Pancreatitis which can be life threatening.

4)  If a cat is vomiting and acting unusual for more than a day definately go to the vet.  Our kitties don't always show us when something is wrong and sometimes by the time you see the symptoms it can get bad very quickly.

Here's hoping that it was just a minor thing that day and Mocha is back to his normal self !!  ;-)

Hope Mocha is feeling better now.
Is he using medicines after the surgery? Maybe those are causing that,or the lack of is...
My girl was ok 3 days after surgery, then become lethargic. She was using nothing so the new vet prescribed an antibiotic - that makes her better but caused diarhea some days later and we had to use another for, when the first was over.
The liquid form make her throw up so I had to change for pills...
Now she's great,thank godness !! :-)
