Calcium and Cholesterol link?

Researches at the University of Alberta recently discovered that there might be a link to high cholesterol and a low calcium level.  More studies and research would obviously need to be done- but do you think that this link could be true?  Do you get enough calcium in your diet?

The studies actually show that higher calcium lowers cholesterol. Calcium has long been know for lowering LDL as it binds with LDL in the small intestine and prevents it from being absorbed into the bloodstream. Instead it is eliminated so I guess the inverse would also be true that low calcium levels are a risk factor for elevated LDL.
