Possible exfoliative dermatitis of the lips

I had severe chapped lips from long term exposure to the sun and wind. I tried treating it with blistex but the remained chapped. As a result of my chapped lips I believe I received an infection that must have occurred when my cracked lips encountered some virus or bacteria. I have redness around my mouth, irritation (itching), occasional minor swelling, and dry lips. I went to emergency room when it first started. Thinking it was an allergic reaction, the doctor gave me a shot or benedryl and a hot of cordisone to relieve swelling. He also prescribed me predisone for 7 days, which helped immensely, but finish medication and redness occurred again. How can I treat this with out going to a doctor? I was told it maybe exfoliative dermatitis of the lips

Put everclear on it and wash and rince your lips constantly if there ripping when you wash them use a medicine cap.The everclear will kill the infection. That you must do until it totally goes away and also while your doing that faithfully see a skin doctor to see if you have a particular infection that takes certain medicine to get rid of it.But no matter what apply everclear and wash lips always use medicine cap if needed so lips wont rip. Get high quality oil type lip chapstik or just really light easy to put on lip chapstik.

A lip dermatitis may have exfoliation, but then exf.dermatitis is a rather a generalised condition which you dont have.Best to apply some moisturizers, and antihistaminic orally if there is swelling.
