Whats wrong with my nose? urgent help needed :(

Hi,
I have what i think is a burst blood vessel on the upper side of my nose. its been there for years. just a small red dot.
For the last 2 years or so, ive been thinking that the skin on my nose is growing thicker, but being told im paranoid by friends and family.
However, over the last month or two the skin directly below the red dot and all around the lower portion of my nose has gotten much thicker, much quicker than it was doing so before.
on the right side of my nose now, the skin is so thick the definition of my nostril is almost lost, and there are thread veins around that nostril, but not on the other side.
In the last couple of weeks i am also sure ive been feeling fluid slowly dripping down my throat from my nose, accompanied by intense feelings of pressure, on my bones and deep inside my nose.

I have recently moved, and applied for a new GP three weeks ago, and they have only just got round to assigning me one, and i can go and see him on wednesday.
however im wondering if i would have reason to go directly do the hostpital. i cannot sleep well because of the feelings of pressure. i have to move my head to relieve the feeling. and it is starting to look rediculous too.

please let me know if you know what could be causing this.
is it the burst blood vessel supplying too much blood to my nose, causing the gland to produce too much oil, thickening my skin? (since ive had this burst blood vessel, the skin quality on my nose is terrible, i can never get it anywhere near clear)
is it possible to treat this?

im open to any info or advice, thanks alot.

Hi

Hyperplasia or thickening of skin in rosacea may be explained by " tissue inflammation, collagen deposition, and sebaceous gland hyperplasia." This refers to enlarged glands and increased deposition of the skin fibers which may contribute to the appearance.

Your condition need to be further assessed. If this indeed is rosacea, then laser therapy will help at this point .

does anybody else have any thoughts as to what could be triggering the skin to grow really thick?

thanks, its not so much the veins im worried about as they are small, its more the excess of skin. it is so thick it makes my nose look twice the size of the bone structure

Hi

This may not be something you should be worried about although I know that you are anxious about this. Differentials for rash and redness on the face may be rosacea. Rosacea may involve the nose and the cheeks. Tiny blood vessels may also be noted on the areas. If this is the case, then you may need to have this assessed by a dermatologist. This does not sound like rosacea however, for cosmetic reasons laser therapy has been used to remove spider veins or fine blood vessels noticeable on the face.
