Cipro sun rash relief

I've broken out in a terrible rash from being out in the sun while taking the antibiotic Cipro. My pharmasist might have warned me, maybe I wasnt paying attention. It's been three weeks since I've been off Cipro but the rash is still with me. I work in the food service industry and I deal with the public. I dont want to freak anybody out, and long sleves are out of the question. I've been using Vaseline intensive care for a week but it only helps with the flakiness. Help please??

I have made the same mistake it seems, and although its only been a few days, it is rextremely irritating (itchy, slightly bumpy, no blisters but a little painful) and I am traveling abroad so visiting my doctor is not an option right away. Dd your doc recommend anything to reduce redness and itching? Or any lotions and things to avoid? Thanks.

Thank you for your help. I've been told by my doctor that it is a reaction from the antibiotic ( Cipro ) I was taking for an infection. I may or may not have been warned to stay out of the sun. They dont look like blisters, the itching is minor, slightly raised, when it's not flaky it's red. Thanks for your help

How are you? What is the description of the rash? Is the rash itchy? It may be a case of spongiotic dermatitis or acute eczema. It is a skin disorder that commonly affects the stomach, chest and often the backside areas. The most common causes include allergic reactions, chiefly food allergies,  insect bites and even some types of drugs or chemical elements that may be present in the environment, or may be unsuspectingly used by the individual.

The most frequent early symptom of Spongiotic Dermatitis is inflammation on the skin followed by visual aspect of blistering skin rashes, which are extremely noticeable and frequently have fluid inside the blisters.Due to excessive itching, there is often scarring on the affected areas, which on occasions will remain for life. Alternatively, you should immediately visit your doctor so that your condition can be properly diagnosed and evaluated and put forward an effective treatment program. Spongiotic Dermatitis, if left untreated, may result in an advancement of the skin rash and it is likely that it will become crust like in appearance.

I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
