Can't find a specialist...

I have had a few doctors tell me they think I have endo now, but they keep telling me to just stay on birth control and give it more time to help with the pains, but if I do have it then I want to know and be treating it the right way so it can't grow or spread as fast. I can't seem to find a doctor that specializes in endo in my area. Does anyone know of any or how to find one. I live in Rochester, NY. Thanks so much.

I cut and pasted this directly from his info, he seems very well-read and has published over 100 articles about reproductive health...whether or not you're TTC right now, endo has a effect on your reproductive health...maybe you can check him out.  Since he's with a university hospital, I'm sure he probably accepts insurance.  Let me know what you find out about him.

Dr. Kanayama is awesome but VERY expensive ! He does not accept insurance either. I will have to ask my gyn but she knows of someone closer to you!

Hi I am not sure about  the drs in your area ... sorry I can't be helpful there. But my re and gyn both let me know that if b/c was going to help the pain from endo then you would see a difference within the first 2-3 cycles of using it. I am really sorry your having such a problem getting the treatment you need. It is very frustrating to be in that position.
But I also think the other ladies are right you should look into an re they can be much more helpful because they deal with reproductive diseases all the time. I hope that helps.

Nope.  In fact I have an appt with on next week!  Most of the time their main objective is fertility only b/c these problems are associated with inferitilty.  Do a google search on them.  They basically have about three years more training concerning reproductive health.
