Continuous BC

So, my doctor put me on continuous birth control to help deal with the bleeding issues and endo pain I have been having.  Well, over the weekend I had a lot of pain (which I have not had in some time now) and I started spotting.  Today I have a little pain and I have a light blood flow and some clotting.  Just wondering if this is normal or not.

My doctor told me that I would not be taking the 2 pills a day long enough for it to do any real damage.  I only had to take them for about a week.  The only down fall is now I have been down to 1 pill a day since last Wednesday or so and now I am starting to spot again.  Thinking it's time to make another call to the doc.

Taking two pills a day is a bit creepy, because if you have endo, then taking two pills will give you twice the oestrogen of one pill and feed it MORE. I went from 30 up to 50 and it got worse. because of that :( so be careful.

I've been researching DIM and Myomin and some women take both of these chinese herbal remedy things, and theyre based on vegetable extracts and stuff and concentrated enough to make a difference :)

I talked to my doctor because I am on the pill continuously to control an abnormal bleeding issue I have.  They are not real sure what causes it but the continuous bc is supposed to help.  Well when I started bleeding and losing big clots I called her because I was kinda scared.  She recommended I take 2 pills a day until the bleeding stops.  I have been doing that and I just started back on 1 pill a day yesterday.  I have an occasional super light spot of blood from time to time but it seems to have stopped for now.  I never knew of any natural ways to help with the endo.  My hubby takes Fish Oil daily so maybe I will have to start too!  I am already a smoker...not proud of it, but I never knew that lowered estrogen, guess that is a good thing too!  lol  Thanks for all of the suggestions, I will definitely be trying them!

Or instead of smoking ( :P ) there are supplements that lower your oestrogen levels (the bad, wandering oestrogens) called DIM and myomin.

I've never had any success with any birth controls. I always have a bad reaction to them. Have you considered trying natural ways to control endo? Fish oil supplements help a lot along with a diet low in gluten and sweets. I also take probiotic supplements because I don't like yogurt. And, the number one thing I love is my heating pad. Also, I know this is unconventional and probably not the best idea, but smoking lowers your estrogen levels and helps with endo.

I have started bleeding again after 11 months. All clotted n yucky like it used to be, but yeah it started with spotting. I've been on Microgynon 30 to manage it since I came off my 6 months of medically induced (synarel nasal spray) menopause.

It's pretty much gonna happen eventually unfortunately, just depends how fast yours grows and where it is :(

Thanks for the info hun.  I might try and call my doctor today and see what they have to say.  The whole thing is just weird to me because I was put on the continuous BC to stop the bleeding and yet, here it is again!  If I get a hold of my doc I will let you know what she says.  Good luck!

OMG! I am in the same position as you (I actually just made a post about it yesterday, which nobody answered unfortuneatly :/).  But I've been bleeding a constant flow for over three weeks now, and prior to that had about two weeks of light spotting.  I'm getting really tired of it and its causing me pretty bad pain again, depsite the fact that I just had surgery to get rid of my endo 3 months ago.  I called my specialist, but can't get a call back until wednesday :/, but I will let you know what they tell me.  This has happened to me on every pill I've tried so far it's SOOO annoying, and I feel like it's almost defeating the purpose of being on the pill in the first place!  But I would suggest also calling your GYN and see what they say.
