Hi ladies, new here and looking for help

Hi everyone, I am finally taking the plunge and posting after seeing how helpful your forum is.  I am a 32 year old mum and for the past year have been having problems.  I was hoping you could tell me if my symptoms sound like endo because my GP just keeps giving me ponstan ( mefenamic acid) to cope with what he calls gyny pain.  At various times of the month, not just during ovulation I get awful pains in the area of my ovaries, mostly located on the right hand side.  The pain can be stabbing on and off OR can be relentless and there all the time.  I also have low back pain and hip pain.   My periods are heavy but only last for 3-4 days and are manageble even though I have to double up on my protection. I generally dont suffer with pain during them but do have clots ( sorry) and pain before my period starts and on and off throughout the month.  I never used to suffer with this and now seem to be in pain all the time.  My GP says he isnt worried because i am not bleeding in between periods or after sex.  Should i bring endo up with him?  Is this sound familiar to anyone?  Thanks in advance for any help.

The fact that he never even sent you for an Ultrasound speaks volumes. I would see another doctor, one that knows about this disease to start with and that will send you for a lap to varify it. It sounds to me like endo and I wouldnt waste any time.  Mine got worse after my daughter was born, ALOT worse.

You should def bring this up with your doc because it is better to be safe than sorry. I had found out i had endo when I was 17 and I am 25 now. The reason I had went to the doc is because I was having back pain very bad and my primary care doc done all kinds of test and every thing come bake fine so my mother had suggested that it might be endo since she, my grandmother, and oldest sister had it. So we went to my mother's gyn and he done a lap and said i had it very bad. But you may also have a cyst that could be causing your pain. You may want to talk with your gyn to see about having an ultrasound done to determine if it is a cyst and if not I would def get them to check for endo.
