You have to remember that Lupron basically makes your body feel as though they are going through menopaus. The symptoms for menopause are a lot the same as pregnancy so that is really common. I hadn't ever been pregnant before doing my 5 months of Lupron so I didn't know how similar they were. I do have an almost 2 yr old now though after doing lupron but it did take me almost 4 years to get pregnant
Hi there. For several years I struggled between having surgery since I had a 6 cm cyst on my left ovary, but I had no irregular periods or pain in that side. The only thing is that I suffered from IBS and constant urinary infections of unknown origin, but that had been going on much before the cyst was discovered. Then, in December 07, an ultrasound revealed that the cyst was septated (there was a division or wall, indicating something bad) and they ran the CA marker which came elevated. So the doctor said surgery and that he wanted to remove my whole uterus since it meant CA. I was shocked and that made me start searching on line and talking to doctors, until in September 08 I found a doctor who was also willing to preserve my organs and worried about my fertility since I don't have any kids.
To make the long story short, I was operated on December 08 and it turned out to be an endometrioma and I also had adhesions. The surgery took longer than expected, but the doctor was able to preserve my ovary. Afterwards. I was placed on the 3-month Lupron shot to control the endometriosis. Of course I was scared, but it was worth taking the chance. I had some side effects, hot flashes, tiredness, at times had difficulty sleeping and had a little headache in the evenings, but nothing that I couldn't manage.
Now, a little more than a year later, I am free on endometriosis and I am ttc. So, if anyone has anyone questions about Lupron, here in this site there are a lot of women who have gone through so much that they could help you out. Also, talk to your doctor if you have questions or doubts.
Best wishes,
Neta
If you have read the paper inside of the shot you receive.. You will find out that this shot can give you weight gain, headaches, and who knows what else side affects. I know that it sounds horrible having this shot, but it really does help the Endometriosis. I have it really bad and have only had two shots so far. I will do anything at this point to try and get rid of the pain. It is horrible pain and you can't even work. I pray after having these shots it will help and then try to get pregnant.
