concerned

So....I have been on the birthcontrol pill to help with endometriosis for the past 15 year or so. I am 31.  It has helped immensely however. in February I had a procedure down and had to go off of it for two weeks.  I got my normal period and then started back on the pill.  when i went off of it for the procedure i still had two week left of pills.  Dr said I coudl tag them onto the next pack.  I have two weeks left of the pill before I should be getting my period but for the past month I bleed sometimes after intercourse and sometimes just randomly...I get cramp like pain and then hello bleeding...it usually starts out bright red and then lasts 12 ours to two and gets darker...Just had my annual physical and pap came back normal...dr said everything looked fine, felt nothing etc....anyone else ever experienced this? Could it be hormonal?  I am a little concerned and not sure what to do..any similar experiences and what you have done would be very insightful
thanks

I've always taken mine at night because I don't always get up at the same time every morning. I set a recurring alarm for 7pm and took it every night at that time.

I always take mine first thing in the morning and have for the last 4 years.  I do it so that I dont forget to take it and I have only forgotten to take it if I am away somewhere.

i agree with you both....hormones can do a lot and screw up everything...It was recommended that I switch from taking my birth control at night to taking it in the morning, so I am doing that and going to track how frequently it happens in the next set of pills and if it persists, will call my OB/GYN.  Anyone hear that taking bc pills in the morning is better than taking them at night? thanks for your responses though. its just nice to hear someone say what I am thinking...its reassuring.

What other procedure did you have?  It could have altered your hormones.

I just went off my antidepressants 3 days ago and I now have breakthrough bleeding.

I only get BTB every 7 months or so but I find it funny that all of the sudden it happens after coming off the meds.

Sometimes I think that if you alter anything that you do on a day to day basis years on end this can happen.

It is most likely hormonal. Being off the pill for a short time messed with things a bit. It should get better with a little more time but if it doesn't improve in another 3 months or so, you may want to see your GYN again
