What to do about Endometreosis(sp?)

I had a partial histerectomy(spelling???) in August 2007. so now I'm not bleeding at my period time but I am in an aweful lot of pain, worse than before the histerectomy, starting about a week before when I should have a period and ending about a week to week & a half after. I go to this Dr. and he says you have all the symptoms of ENDO so I ask what the next step is???!!! He says that he can't treat me at the moment and gives 3 other Dr.s names; what the heck??? He has me so freaked out and then tells me, he can't help me. I'm very limited to Dr.s because of my insurance, I just can't afford to keep going to all these Dr.s and I will never go back to Dr. that did my histerectomy. I'm so tired because I can't sleep when I'm in pain, and I'm not sure what to do.
Please help???!!!
Thanks,
Jen

Does your state insurance require a referral?  If not, I'd just start calling them and ask if they accept your insurance.

That's the next step. I just have to find a specailist to take my insurance since the doctor refferred me to one that dont accept it.
Thank you,

If you have a surgical diagnosis of endo it's much easier to get any kind of insurance to pay for your treatment and dr visits.  Make sure that your doctor noted that he found endo, or suspected it, when he did your hysterectomy, if he didn't, have him amend the notes!  Get a copy of your surgery report and take it with you to the next doctor, that way they have a better idea of what's been done and what may need to be done.

Thank you! I think they are more like a "If you want to concieve, we can help" kinda place but I will call them and find out for sure. I'll let you know.
Thank you so much,

Try to find an endo specialist or good ob/gyn thats familiar w/endo that you insurance covers, they can check you out or maybe do a laparascopy...thats the only true way to find out if you have it I guess!
