I have the same issue, except my son is 5, I never nursed, and am also currently, and am possibly, infertile.  The specialists all feel that I have a biological hormonal imbalance and am also experiencing a "pseudo-pregnancy" - meaning that I want a child so badly that my body is mimicking a pregnancy to induce ovulation.  We have been trying to concieve for 27.5 months with no success.  We  have gone through fertility testing, an HSG procedure, and began fertility treatments.  I previously had cervical cancer, am still struggling with endometriosis, PCOS, and chronic ovarian cysts, on top of numerous other medical issues that have recently surfaced (mostly due to having a 3 month course of the Lupron shot which induces menopause).  If you think that you have any of these issues, PLEASE bring them up to your GYN.  I regret that I waited so long to say anything...... it could have saved a LOT of pain and heartache.  I hope that I may have helped, even just a little.   Good luck on finding answers and please keep us updated.....
