Do I have endometriosis?

2 years back I was told that I have ovarian cysts (the doctor say me once, and told me to go to a specialist, but w/o insurance I could not afford it) The cysts keep reoccurring (or are not going away), and are getting more and more painful.  I I have varying amounts of pain day-to-day, ranging from my pelvis, abdomen, lower back, and then down my thighs (when it's really bad).  It hurts on and off, sometimes worse than usual, and when I cough, pee, have sex (and getting worse!), and walk (when it's really bad).  My periods are fairly regular, but HURT so so so bad.  The doctor I saw also prescribed some pain killers - did not help.  Ibuprofen doesn't do much - so nothing really helps.  I also lost a ton of weight after my 3 son was born.  I went from from 150 (my pre-birth "regular" weight), to 115 in under 3 months.  I was NOT trying to lose weight.  The weight is ok now, I am at 120, but cannot gain anything even when I try to.  I have a lot more info and history (both sides of me family have had cancer) - any ideas as to what this might be?  I cannot live in this pain for the rest of my life.  :-(

It sounds like it may be endo and have the cysts. I also have endo and recently had a cyst removed. It sounds like your cysts may be getting larger. Have you addressed the cysts at all within the past few years?  You should seek treatment and if you don't have insurance then maybe look into clinics that can assist?  I am on lupron for the endo for 6 months which is supposed to shrink and inhibit the endo implants. I've only been on the lupron a few weeks. I see an OBGYN for this and I've been satisfied with my doctor and his knowledge and ideas to treat the endo. I suggest you address the cysts AND the endo, taking pain meds is just a band-aid. Keep us posted.

If you have a problem go to the ER it is illegal to turn someone away from the ER.  It may cost you something, but at least you will have had the surgery,  The cysts could kill you if you aren't careful.  I know, because it happened to me.

There's a good chance you have endometriosis, but there's no way to tell for sure unless you have a laparoscopy. I don't know what to tell you about the inurance issue I'm afraid :-( but you will NEED to see a specialist to diagnose endometriosis. At a very minimum, see an OBGYN instead of your regular doctor. One of MANY problems with endo is that many doctors are inexperienced with it, even doctors who specialize in OBGYN issues.
My pain from endometriosis is so bad that I take narcotics every single day to cope with the pain. Ibuprofen is like candy to me...
Good luck to you!!
