eye pain photophobia few months

Hi

I have had pain in both eyes for a few months now, it began in the morning body was feeling very weak and tired started feeling pain right sided on my head and my eyes, when moving the eyes looking left, right it would hurt and feel alot of pressure, my eyes went slightly red, also felt alittle dizzy, headache disappeared a few days later, i started wearing sunglasses as light would hurt my eyes, would get pains in my jaw, face, eyebrows, like a sinus pain intermittantly and heat would make me worse.

The only thing i have noticed physically till this day (sounds weird) is the whites of my eyes  (sclera) seems slightly wrinkled when i move or press the bottom eye lid up, i dont feel alot of pain as before, light sensitivity is much better then before, they simply feel hot maybe inflamed, but are not red

I did go to the doctors a few times during these momths, they simply said it could be a migrane attack or an ear infection/anxiety, one Dr advised it could be the liver as my LFT was abnormal slighly raised ALT results (first time i was told about this) but then found that they had been abnormal for a few years and have come down alot so he advised it most likely isn't the liver because of this (alt is 65 has come down from 107 few years ago, also had another lft done should get results tomorrow) thyroid was fine, blood tests were done iron was fine, checked me for hepatitis which was fine/negative.

I then went to an optician, my eye sight was fine, everything seemed fine, he also took a picture of my eyeballs and shown it was fine (im sure eye pressure was fine i didn't ask or had known what to ask for) because of my symptoms ie photophobia and pain, he wrote me a letter to pass to my GP to refer me to hospital. Still waiting for an appointment, wel i've had to give in another letter as they seemed to have lost the letter, so it has delayed me for seeing a specialist so hopfully that should be comming right up.

i do suffer alot from irritable bowl syndrome, wel chronic diarrhea, asthma at a very mild level, have recently purchased eye drops for dry eyes second day today of using it, i'm not sure if it's helping i think my eyes feel easy to move around, time will tell i guess.

anyways, long essay i know lol, can anyone shed some light on this? any advice would be good

thank you

Your symptoms sound very systemic, and your IBS and other issues point in the direction of immune dysfunction.  BY all means consult a neuro opth, but most likely a more holistic approach might be needed to treat the underlying issues (does not sound like just a local eye problem).

(....I've been through the same hoops ...)

I'm from the UK, i do believe we have a neuroophthalmologist but it's probably going to be impossible to be refered to one,  No offence to anyone but Drs here (nhs UK) are not as helpful due to the budgets. Wel i will be visiting my GP tomorrow, will ask for a referal, i was refered to a neurologist a few months ago when my problem began, they simply pushed me away saying its a migrane and closed off the case, so i wasn't too happy with that, but cannot do much about it. I'm thinking of going abroad to another country to get help on this.

In the USA I would refer a person with your problems to a neuroophthalmologist. In your country I don't know if that can be done.
