Can cryptosporidium have an immune-compromising effect?

Feb. 16th was the start of the crippling diarrhea. April 1st I made a trip to the walk-in clinic, unable to bear it any longer. Started Alinia (an anti-diarrheal medication, which I can't find evidence that actually does anything to kill the parasite, only treats the diarrhea) the next day. 50 mg for 3 days. The treatment seemed to work, but my GI tract still hasn't gone back to "normal". Since the crypto, I have been on 3 different antibiotics in the last 3 months. I have been on Amoxicillin twice for streptococcus pharyngitis (Strep Throat), Nitrofurantoin for a UTI and the Alinia. All of these, plus the many viral infections I've had and treated with OTC meds. I haven't been sick this many times in my entire life, as many as I have since the Crypto infection. My parents, whom I still live with, did not get the Crypto, have not gotten either Strep Throat cases, or any of the other viral infections I've gotten. So, could the Crypto have substantially decreased my immune system's effectiveness? Is there anything else that may explain the sudden onset of constant illness? Is there some supplement I could be taking to help boost my immune system?

Note- no idea where I contracted the Crypto. May have just been dormant for many years inside me, because there has only been 1 other case in my state this year.
