HELP

Dear young mothers,

Now more than ever i need some help and support from you girls. well a year ago while having sex with my bf i thought it was near ovulation, so i took plan b. The period was late for 6 days and i took a pregnancy test and it got positive, very faint but the next day i began bleeding as it was the period so i went in emergency they did a blood and urine test and an ultrasound and told me i was not pregnant, maybe miscarriage. Now the problem is not here, but is today. Now i am married , happily married and we want a child more than anything else, but i discovered i am blood group 0 negative. This means that i must do an injection after delivering the first baby in order to have other healthy children. Well i did not know it by that time, a year ago so i really want to ask does that count as a first pregnancy which means that i will never have healthy babies????
thank you very much.

I'm a blood-type positive baby born to an O- mom.  We had the RH factor issue.  She two kids before me (one + and one -, in that order) and they waited too long after the first + baby to give her the shot, so she never had it.  I turned out fine. :)  I was a bit jaundiced when I was born (almost two weeks late).  Treatment is simple; they stuck me in a baby tanning-bed.  With so many other "exciting" things that happen during pregnancy, this is one thing you shouldn't stress over.  You'll have lots of blood drawn and tested throughout, so the dr.s will know if it's an issue before you give birth and all of you will be prepared.  Enjoy the experience!

Hi,
What you are referring to is RH-incompatibility and shouldn't be a factor in your situation. The Rhogam shot which is usually administered around week 28 and you were much much earlier than that it would not be considered a "first pregnancy" from a RH compatibility perspective. Check with your doctor but you should be fine.

Good luck

You will have healthy babies. If you had a miscarriage, it was for a reason. I know plenty of people who have gone on to have many babies after. I have miscarried before and I know how discouraging it can be. The BEST thing to do is not to stress. In my opinion stress can cause more harm than good. Take care and good luck.
