What is this sharp pin or glass like pain in the tip of my big toe?

Over the past few weeks following a personal issue which temporarily spiraled me into a sort of breakdown, I've been getting tingling sensations in my hands, feet, and further afield. This has been for the last 2 weeks.

Tonight I got a sharp pin-like pain in the tip of my left big toe, for about 5 seconds. I am also getting a similar pin like pain on the back of my right leg. So from tingles, now into pains.

What are the possible causes, and what kind of examination should I seek to start eliminating possibilities?

Pins, tingles and needles are often neurological in nature.  They can be nothing serious a lot of the time. A pinched nerve can cause that.  Stretching can resolve the pinched nerve as an example. Sciatica is the example I'd give for that but it could happen anywhere in your body.  I would not panic.  Go see a doctor and explain what is going on. Understand to that your anxiety may contribute substantially to the sensation.  When we are anxious, we hyper focus and feel every twinge, ping and tingle that really is no big deal.  Then you feel.  So, really. Try to relax and stay busy.  Go see your doctor but do not expect anything serious to come out of this.  good luck
