Sudden onset of symptoms and HBP

Hi,I am a 47 yr.old and never had blood pressure issues and all the sudden I started
having these issues,I had some symptoms
prior to  the sudden occurence, eye twitching severely with eye pain, increasing severity of headaches and a real bad one a couple of days ago,It is not extremely high
so I was put on lisinopril only after I took 2 days of readings at home.Today is the first day of the
lisinopril and I am not sure when to expect relief
it took 3 and half hours for my pressure to come ddown and this last reading shows it is coming bback up.How long should it take to stabilize
usually?

I have just started the topomax and hopefully it will do the trick, the electric shocks are
getting more confined to my head and they are nearly driving me insane but I am keeping it together....yesterday I could not stomach food to much ,it was much easier
to keep down steamed soft vegetables, meat isn't so kind.the first couple of waking hours
are my best and it goes down hill from there.I slept a couple of hours which was a relief
I am doing these posts in hopes that someone will see a resemblence and my doc
wants me to go on a vit b12 regimine.I hated going to the hospital because the symptoms I went in for were not what were investigated and I get kind of irritated
that they would feel I would waste their precious time when they could be saving a
life on what I would regard as a migraine, the migraine was not what I was there for
but it ended up being the

main focus.I came home with the same symptoms I went in with and I don't blame them,No Insurance! They were mobbed, bless their souls.

I appreciate the rsponse and I finally went to the hospital and they done a ct scan w/o contrast
and blood tests the was nothing they could find that alarmed them and the doc said
i need to discuss the eye twitching and electric shock and exhaustion with my
primary, she also sent out specialized blood tests since my thyroid was low and of
course vit. D,I can not seem to digest the vit D pill it just sits in my stomach til I
barf it up and I have had migraines throughout my life but these have been intense.
My lack of Insurance ties up things and frustates my doc as well as me,I am starting
Topamax and she said it should slow down the neuro symptoms and reduce the
headaches also. One last note,Neck has been locked up and lower GI problems
and dark reddish urine and skin problems.I am still having erratic BP and and it
is nearly impossible to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Let's back up a minute.

High blood pressure in itself, is not necessarily bad, when it is compensatory. You don't state your heart rate at the time, which is necessary to make an evaluation. A blood pressure reading witrhout known the heart rate is meaningless. This does not mean that youe medication is innapropriate.

A question in the back of my mind is "why you had high blood pressure in the first place?". While atheroschlerolic deposits are a common cause, this is not the only cause.

I am more concerned by the fact you have had neurological symptoms and apparently have not had both an MRI and an MRA. The "headaches" and "eye pain" worry me.

Both diagnostic procedures should be considered.

You should have also bee prescribed slow-release niacin.

This is an update to the original posting,I have been having more widespread elec. shock
sensation that run through my body and when they get to the top part it makes my
eyes flash around and no focusing ,it makes me clench my fist and I am going to
be unable to control my movements,I am ok at this very moment and I pray that I will be free from it today.I currently have no insurance and I don't want to rack up
a huge hospital bill that I can't pay.I have not started it yet but I was given a scribe
for Topamax and I am going to start them today...Thank You for your help, any help
is comforting..

I have not started taking cholesteral meds yet but the dr. wants me to start them
a month after this bp med due to high cholest. good choles. barely registered.
What I can tell you is since that day my life wasn't the same.

Are you taking other medication such as cholesteral tablets as these are suspected of causing spikes in BP

Sometimes your doctor has to change the dosage or change the prescription to another med.
or even add another to the one you're taking.
