I did not, but I know that I don't have alot of the problems that my other family members have had since having their gall bladders removed, but I do not re-call them saying anything about weight gain...Sorry. They have what is called "dumping syndrome" which is having to go "number two" after they eat or shortly after, but I have not had that problem at all. Thank god! If they are willing to talk about that, I think they would mention weight gain - LOL!

If you don't properly digest your food you will store fat. Taking digestive enzymes with ox bile will help your condition. I had my gall bladder removed 2 and 1/2 years ago and had problems with abdominal pain and weight loss. I lost weight because every time I ate I would have pain. The less I ate the better I felt. I started taking digestive enzymes 6 months after surgery because I developed fibromyalgia. It helped with my abdominal pain. I eventually had to see an endocrinologist because I started to notice a problem like hypoglycemia. She diagnosed me with insulin resistance. This may have nothing to do with you but if you are over weight,  putting on weight very easily, and can't loose weight even with diet and exercise then you may want to look into this condition. When I ingest carbs or sugars my body turns them into fat because my insulin cannot break down the sugars. Because I was on a strict diet of high fiber and 5 small meals a day I didn't gain weight after surgery. Before surgery I put on 15 lbs. and couldn't slow it down. My doctor is unsure of the connection with the gall bladder but it is possible. I am now on medication for the insulin resistance along with the high fiber diet, 5 small meals a day and exercise. I have begun to feel better and have lost weight. It is something to check into before it gets to severe like mine. It is going to take me a while to get back to normal.

Hey!  I had my gallbladder removed in December, so almost 7 months ago, and haven't gained any weight.  In fact, I've lost some which I've been trying to do. I've read on here about people indeed gaining weight after gallbladder removal but no one that I know personally experienced that.  Take care!
