4th gen tests and HIV mutations

Hi

I had a high risk contact with prostitute (that I later discovered, from her, had HIV and possibly other diseases)

I used condom (but the skin on the penis was probably damaged during sex - at least that's what skin doctor said examining it after 8 or 10 days - my penis head was red and painful)
We had 2 encounters (one finish inside vagina and second on in vagina but finishing with hand stimulation)
I also had some problems with erection and she helped me with a hand (on bare penis)- unfortunately I came to realize the risk of such behavior way to late

I had symptoms in 3rd week after encounter - throat infection that I treated with antibiotics so it finished quite often

then it was relatively calmer after 6 weeks  I still have many symptoms some of which might be stress realted such as raised and instable body tempreature diareahs, my penis is still itching quite often,

I did VDRL syphilis  test  and it was negative after 6 weeks

I did 4th generation tests (not sure which one exactly) after 21 days and than after 45 days both came negative

MY QUESTION IS:
1 What is the probability that this test were correct (and will confirm after 3 months) in case this prostitute had rare mutation of HIV
2 Rare mutation would be reasonable guess as she must have had sex with at least thousand guys and might have contracted different types of HIV as she did not care anymore. This lead to to cross infection and new mutations,
is this reasonable assumption?

3 do 4th gen test detect all mutations of HIV in early period (up to 6 weeks)?
4 Should i also take ELISA test after 60 days and will  4th generation test taken in 60 days be more reliable than this of 45 days - to calm me down even more (I really cannot cope with this pressure)

I would highly apreciate an answer form the doctor - I am under EXORBITANT stress
(disappointing my parents hopes  breaking their and my life), for the first time I fully realized life is is irreversible and would so much want to be different man

I REALLY NEED RELIABLE ANSWER I.E.THE TRUTH AND NOT CALMING ME DOWN

P.S. are doctors on this forum verified??

if it makes you feel any better...my son (hiv +) and his wife (hiv - ) have PROTECTED sex all the time.  that's the beauty of the condom...it allows you to have sex without getting infected.

as teak stated above...seek help from a professional to work through your fear of sex.

If having protected and safe sex as you did cause this much trouble for you then stay home and masturbate. Don't even think of having sex with another person or animal. While you're at it, seek professional mental help with your hangups on protected sex.

one last question for today
I lost lots of weight (went from 75 kg to unsteady 69.9-68.2kg ) what can this be atrributed to?
I had light anorexia in past weeks but now I try to eat normally for over a week and my  weight still stays below 70 can such a big change be a result of anxiety alone??

If the condom did not fail and was used consistently they are 100% effective. If a condom fails you would damn well know it. Yours did not fail, so move on.

I did talk to the doctor and she did not easy me
this is my point :(

condoms do not provide 100% safety - there are actually risks even when using condoms for both oral and vaginal

I was told that by 3 different doctors!!! the risk is very low but only providing you used condoms CORRECTLY and it's better to use condoms without lubricates (another thing I did not realize)
Sex is an emotional thing and you can never be sure you took all precautions  because you are concerned with other things

I believe people should be more aware of such things and when I will be alright I  will volunteer to rise awareness of such issues among people,  this experience already changed my life

Michal, I have to say it but your questioning suggest a high degree of anxiety - mutations,
1 Five 9s reliability. After that period of time the majority of people who are going to test (i.e. those with an actual risk) positive will have done so.
2 No. If she used a condom with you then in all probability she is using condoms with everyone else, to protect her own health and income.
3 Not relevant, you didn't have a risk and don't have HIV.
4 I don't think you needed the tests you have had already.
Your symptoms are not indicative in any way of primary HIV infection. Antibiotics do not clear pharyngitis caused by viruses.
Are you allergic or sensitive to Antibiotics? They can cause diahorreah.

Probably best for yourself if you do quit

it's not funny I had many symptoms and some of them are not realted to nervous breakdown, eg. throat infection in 3rd week when I had no stress as i would never thought of risk of getting HIV at that time

she might have had sharp teeth unfortunately having sex  was my only encounter with her. Are you 100% positive it was safe?

Most people don't use condoms at all when engaging in oral sex. You actually did!  It's called latex because it is durable.  You put it on and use it however way you like.

That isn't a risk at all.  It's actual the safest way to have sex unless your partner has shark teeth. : )
