tested at 2 months after possible precum infection

Two months ago I had unprotected sex, he pulled out before cumming but I am not sure if the precum entered my body. I am not sure whether he has HIV; he indicated that he does not but my anxiety has gotten the best of me...

I had an issue with my skin a few days later but my doctor informed me it was from sweat and not to worry about it.(sweat from running and working in the heat)

I have had a scratchy throat for five weeks now but... I also bought a house and have been working there (sanding, mowing the lawn and doing many things that could have cause the throat issue).

I have been tested maybe about 7 times now and all negitive, I just got tested at the 2 month mark it was also negitive. I plan on getting tested again at the three month mark just to put the icing on the cake...

I called the HIV line and they indicated that my chances are very slim and that if it has come back negitive at the two month mark that it will come back negitive at the three month mark and that I am fine....

I need more reassurance because I am going insane over this issue, it is the only thing I can think about, please no goofy responses. Anxiety has taken over my life!

Hey,

I was reading one of the docs. forums with a lady who has a  thyroiditis  problem...
I was wonder from the response below from the doc. is he saying that the  thyroiditis  would not cause a delay in antibodies?

I was also wondering since it is a autoimmune disease does it fall under the list of things that can cause the window period to extend?

"Having said that there is no reason no to get tested.  you are right that your thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease but there is no reason to think that currently available HIV tests, including Home Access will not provide an accurate reflection of your antibody status.  You can take the test with confidence that your results will be an accurate reflection of your circumstances and do not need to worry about an elevated false positive rate. "

Thank you??

Thanks again, it is hard to find some one who understands when they have no idea what the anxiety of it can do to you. I feel like I have to just let it go, I don't even know if he is infected I came up with the anxiety after talking with a friend who said she was going to get tested because she had unsafe sex. I would have never thought about it...
but I won't let it go until my 3 month test is negative. but thanks for your help.

Most people who have contracted HIV will test positive between 6-8 weeks and you not having any condition that would lengthen the window period greater than 3 months would more than likely continue to test negative.

It will be negative, remember not every exposure results in infection.  In addition eight week test is almost conclusive by todays tests all but the smallest number of people take longer than six weeks to become positive.  To be conclusive you need to wait until ninety days  but you have all these tests already under your belt I think you are going to be absolutely fine but no one can say 100% until 90 days......If you have other questions feel free to send me a private message I am not on all the time but when i see it I will answer you are going to push some peoples patience on the forum if you continue to post here.  all the best.

you didn't have to be sarcastic I was only curious I appreciate your response, please don't take it personal that I asked... you just didn't give more of a response and I was curious.

Can you tell me why you doubt the results will change?

Thanks again!!

No mistake I'm not educated in HIV at all. I've just had it for 24 years and I teach about HIV in high schools and colleges.

THANK YOU,

I feel much better after having this thread with someone who has had the same situation...
I am glad to hear that you are negative and I'm sure I will be as well, I know one thing after reading as much as I have about HIV I could become an educator for HIV.

Thanks again you've put my mind to ease until next month when I get tested again

I do not know if he had it at the time we had intercourse but january was the 2 month mark and it was negative also my 6th month was negative. pre *** has less of a chance to enter your bloodstream. I do think you are ok at your third month I would go test because if you were anything like I am my worries got the best of me and now it has been almost 10 months and my fears still excist even though I know I am negative so get tested at three months just to ease your mind But I do believe you are ok 2 months is a good time frame and it is very very rare your results will change..

So evan though he was POSITIVE.... and he may have precummed in you; you were negitive? did they tell you what your chances were of transmition through precum?

and would the 2month mark be safe to trust... I do plan on going back in one more month but I need to relax.

I don't even know if he has it, I just have so much anxiety over it. I'm glad some one can relate!!

I doubt that your test is going to change when you get your conclusive test results. Try using a condom the next time and you won't have the anxiety issues.
