Unprotected sex with Italian man

I was in Italy Aug 24 and had unprotected sex with a 28 year old male from Kosovo, who has been living in Italy for 11 years. I am a 26 year old female. We did not use condoms and had sex twice. Once was only for about a minute and he finished outside of me and the second time probably lasted 5 minutes and he also finished outside of me. I am so scared because he won't answer my emails about whether or not he is HIV positive and I know the statistics are much higher there than in Canada.
I have had some symptoms of acute hiv infection. I went to the hospital and they took an HIV test and said it would take 1.5 months for the results. Is this length of time normal? I thought it should only be 10 days.
Also, what are my chances of being HIV positive?  I am beginning to shake all the time from anxiety and cannot move on with my life.

OK, I will try. So worried though, it is tough to stay off the internet. But yes it is driving me insane.

I will take another test at 6 - 8 weeks and another at 3 months. Very difficult to wait that long.

your test was too early anyway.

a test at 6-8 weeks will give you a very good indication of your status and unlikely to change.  3 months is conclusive.

how does one continue on with life?  my best advice is to get off the internet searching and reading about hiv...it will drive you insane.  there is ALOT of misinformation out there.

Should I question why it is taking 6 weeks? Everything I have read on the internet says it should take much less time. Like 2 weeks.

I am so scared. How does one continue on with life until the results?

the good news is that the "odds" are with you.  it is unlikely this man has hiv...most ppl dont

the bad news is that you had unprotected sex with someone and didnt know his status BEFOREHAND.

hiv IS found in preejaculate...but not in the same concentration as ejaculate, obviously.

the ONLY way to know your status is by testing.  3 months post exposure will give you a conclusive result.  (never heard of it taking 6 weeks for a test result)
