Please help me with my situation..

Hi,

Recently (2 weeks back) I had a sexual encounter (Oral by her and Vaginal insertion) with a woman. I didn't wear a condom during the oral but used it during vaginal insertion. Unfortunately it has been ripped during the intercourse and I could not notice it until I finished the act. I was hell scared from then on. Although the woman claims to be 100% sure that she is healthy I am very concerned. This encounter is the first one in my life. After this exposure I had the following physical changes.

1. Just after the day of the act there existed a sense of urinating frequently that lasted for few days (no pain, burning sensation and puss) and I dont feel it any more.

2. A week after exposure I ate lots of ice cream (around 0.7 ltrs). Immediately the next day after that I had a very sore throat which included cough and mucous. I visited a doctor who gave me ROXID(antibiotic) with ascorill she said this might be strep. After a week I still have this so I visted an ENT specialist who asked for a blood test and a CT scan. After the tests he diagnosed that I have "concha bullosa" with a deviated septum along with swollen tonsils. He gave me antibiotic "ofloxacin".

Following are my blood test results:

total leucocytes : 8000
lymphocytes: 37% (22-44 required)
monocytes: 2% (0-4 required)

Please let me know what are my chances of contracting a STD (HIV in particular). I am very scared.

Yes,now is the perfect time to have the DUO.27 days is ideal because that is when the p24 antigen is at it,s peak and that test is 99% accurate at 4 weeks.

I know its easy for me to say abhtnvu but dont focus on the symptoms, they mean very little in relation to the diagnosis of HIV.

However i do find it frustrating that Teak didnt feel it necassary to correct his initial comments in this thread. Condom failure means there is a risk, but its a low one. Get yourself tested and you can put this behind you. I wish you every success.

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. I am sorry but some things are continuously worrying me right now and all of a sudden from few days I am having this bowel movements frequently and today I had loose stool once. I think these are symptoms of diarrhoea if I am not wrong. It is now making me all more scared to death and I already have this feeling of HIV in my head. Please let me know the severity of diarrhoea during ARS. Its been 25 days since exposure and waiting to get the DUO test done in 3 days. Hope everything goes absolutely well.

If there was a condom failure, then it is a risk and requires testing.
I agree with getitright77, at 4 weeks DUO test will give you excellent indication of your status. But if I were you, I wouldn't worry too much.

I respect Teak, but I do not give my advices based on his comments.
