Why cant you anser the ? I ask would a 4 th gen test pic up even the 3% by 12 weeks
You aren't in the 3%. Now move along.
Im just asking teak since even your own gov says 3% will take longer then 3 months for a pos result and how do i know that i could not really be one of that 3% and the symptoms i have had for the last 16 weeks are not related how long did it take you to turn pos? Whats the longest you have ever knowen for a pos result?

I don't know what else to say.
You're negative .
Symptoms mean very little after a negative test.
Talk to the folks that gave you the test
Yeah i was that is why im asking about chances of testing pos after a 12 week window and how long symptoms would last if a test has not picked up the infection at that point
Hi,
I just now clicked on your name and saw your earlier post.
Are you saying you were tested negative at 85 days post exposure? (unless I have reading comprehension issues)
If that is the case then discussing symptoms is a waste of time.
You may have something going on but it ain't HIV.
We only use 4 th gen tests here
How long would ars symptoms last at the longest
To clarify....I didn't mean that "any" exposure or risk will automatically lead to infection.
"Turning" positive is immediately after your exposure. The question is what is the time it will take with currently available tests to catch the sucker.
Years ago the tests weren't as sensitive as they are today and so the window period was 6 months.
Today it's 3 months....80ish days + something days post exposure. The FDA says so...to be extra sure. So 84 days.
With the tests in use today you would know your "positive" result much earlier than that...IF you were infected, for the vast majority of cases. But to absolutely and conclusively rule out infection then an antibody test at three months is final.
My guess is it will remain so for years.
The only exception is if you were on immune system suppressive medication or post exposure treatment.
There are tests that look for the actual virus itself, and they are great but the final test will remain an antibody test at three months.
