Does MVP cause enlarging of the heart or other complications?

Ok I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with Mitral Valve Prolapse. A couple of months ago after severe chest pains I went to the ER and found that my EKG came back abnormal and they sent me for a stress echo. After about 3-4 on the treadmill I got dizzy and my chest started hurting and when the test came back they said my heart was enlarged. My doc sent the report to a cardiologist who said we would just wait to see what happened. Last week I had another attack of chest pains twice and went to the ER. The first time they said it was bronchitis and sent me home with antibiotics. The second time they said it wasn't bronchitis and said I had pleurisy and to follow up with the doc. My heart enzyme tests and blood clot tests came back normal so they didn't feel it was effecting my heart. My question is with what I have read about pluerisy could this cause complications or effect my heart in anyway? They didn't feel it was caused by an infection because my white blood cell count and all came back fine. THey couldn't give me any answers as to why I got it. I haven't been able to talk to a cardiologist about this so just was looking for an opinion. THanks

A respiratory condition that interferes with normal and/or substantial uptake of oxyyen with breathing can stress the heart to work harder to meet the system's oxygen demand.  A harder working heart that may have some issues can increase the left ventricle dimensions and heart failure.   It is recommended for anyone who has a heart problem to get pneumonia shots, especially the elderly.  I don't know if pleurisy effects the air sacs that permit the passing of co2 and oxygen, but pleurisy may cause a problem because of inflammation of the outer tissues that affect and cause shallow breathing?!
