Coronary Arterial Spasm

My spouse had a heart attach in June and after cath, no blockage was found.  They were diagnosed with coronary arterial spasms and were given nitro and Norvasc.  The chest pains continued every few days and they were given Imdur.  The imdur caused extreme dizziness and near fainting along witht he worst head ache and a "foggy" feeling.  The patient was told by one cardiologist:"we dont know much about this and you may just have to love with it".  The patient is 42 with no smoking, normal to low BP (normal of 100/60 for them) , in great shape.  The Imdur has proved worse for quality of life then the actual anigna attacks.  Has anyone has success with a med for this that wont make you feel miserable?  Any suggestions for us???   It is either heart attack or migraines and fainting???  Please tell me there is another option?
Thanks

I am intolerant to nitrates, side effects from just 5mg is nausea, dizziness to the point of falling over, shakes, chronic headaches. On top of this, the medication does nothing for
my angina. It is all very well a doctor saying you have to live with it, but at what cost. As you say, the headaches are bad and I have personally felt these, they are nasty. It feels
like all the nerves in your neck are being squeezed causing shooting pains in the head.
I would seek a second opinion because there is quite a good variety of nitrate drugs.
Doctors are recommended to start Imdur on a low dose and gradually build it up so the
body can adapt over several weeks. It is believed that there are certain triggers for a spasm such as cold air, alcohol abuse, cocaine and smoking. Other triggers are not
known. I would definitely seek a second opinion.
