heartecho/arrythmia

Last year I was told I had hypothyrodism, I am 65  year old migrainer, otherwise healthy.  5'3"/112 lbs. I tried synthroid but soon develo[ed cramping in my legs, so severe I stopped taking same.  The doctor said meds weren't
the cause.  Now I have for a month had a heartbeatecho and occasional arrythmia....Otherwise my pulse is fine...and BP is usually 105/65...What is causing this? If thyroid is there anything else except hormone meds I can take?
Thank you.

Thanks...happy belated VD to you!  You just may have something there...there was a time (25 yrs ago, or so) I was on beta blockers....Of course, at that time I was taking so many different medications for migraine who knew what was going on...I didn't.  So after I retired from UAL...I went off all meds....was going through Menopause also......things seemed to be better...Right now I am trying to see what I have done differently in the last
couple of months...and take it from there....really not anxious...more curious than anything....and yes it is annoying...hearing my heartbeat......Thank you for your input.  I need to find a new Doctor....again thanks!

Happy Valentines Day...........its funny because alot of times beta blockers are prescibed for migranes ie: antenolol, toporol, etc. and the same meds are given for fast heart rates, irregular heart rates, etc. so to me you sound like a likely candidate.  Thyroid problems can definately set off these episodes because of surges of adrenline in your body.  Your B/P is obviously wonderful but in answer to your question and what is setting it off...could be your diagnosis, could be caffeine intake, could be anxiety over the heart.  Just about anything....you may have it now and it may disappear as suddenly as it stopped.  I would talk to the doc and see if you can get on a beta blocker which sounds to me like it will control most of what is going on w. you...sounds logical.  Make the call tomorrow so you can get back to living your life.  It doesn't sound to me like you are in any immediate danger here...more of a nuisance than anything....good luck
