Its nice to know I'm not the only one. Guess I will have to be a Vampire too!
Thanks again Lynne
I had to wipe down my shed and spread some more mulch in my yard in preparation for the annual HOA inspection next weekend. I waited until 6pm to do it. I have been inside for 2 days. I went out to get the mail yesterday, and it was so hot and sticky, Yechh! It was actually really nice out earlier when I did my little bit of work. The humidity was non existent, which was really nice.
lol meakea i know it's not funny but i can relate to leaving the sunglasses behind and paying dearly for it! i LOVE the sun, but right now it is one of my worst enemies, i got that riba rash and also had to go on anthrax or whatever you call that, know it starts with an A? my husband had a deck built and made sure he bought 2 unbrellas and the in-laws are bringing another one on the 4th, i have to stay out of the sun there is no way that i could sit out there for any length of time and not suffer some serious consequences. also know about getting in and out of stores at right time, and hurrying across parking lots to car to put groceries in.
I absolutely have to stay out of the sun and that is very hard for me to accept too. I'm in week 42 and I wear straw hats when I'm outside and I am always seeking out the shade. I NEVER go outside without my sunglasses and that's even on lightly cloudy days. Sun kills my eyes.
The other day I walked 2 blocks to a deli to buy a sandwich for lunch and it was very cloudy when I started out so I left my sunglasses behind. By the time I got there, bought my sandwich and started my walk back to the office, the sun had come out and nearly killed me! I had to shut my eyes and walk with just one eye just slightly cracked open a bit. It was the longest 2 blocks I have ever walked.
I just went thru a nightmare with the sun and my HCV TX drugs. My entire body broke out in a horrible itchy rash. My shot places are dried out and even cracking and drying and bleeding. The doctor put me on Atavax which I take 3 times a day and its also to make you drowsy. UGH like I need anything else to make me sleep.
I hate these Tx's and i cant wait for 9 more weeks.
Good Luck
So sorry, yes it's a SX of interferon, maybe riba, too. I did not have that but developed an allergy to benedryl at TX end that has made me sun sensitive, too. I get covered with tiny red dots and have drug out the hats (funny I never had the nerve to wear them before). Stick with long sleeves, use sunblock, hands in pockets, wear the hats. Hope you have tint in your car windows. You can go out early and late but still avoid direct sun exposure. You'll get hilariously good at going around the edges of the shadows and getting from parking to store in record time. I call it my vampire phase, since I only go out much at night.
Just one more thing on a list of possibles and it will pass when it's all over. Hang in there.
I also had problems with exposure to sun during tx, and stil it is to some degree now after tx.
I think you better avoid the sun, at least during tx,.

When you wear sunglasses, your pupils widen to accept more light. So, if you don’t wear the right protective sunglasses, you are better off not wearing sunglasses at all. There really isn’t any guarantee what kind of UV protection those lenses have (if any at all). Some claim to be polarized but usually are not. And don’t forget if you get into an accident, fake sunglasses will shatter easily. A lot of fake sunglasses may even give you headaches.

BE CARFUK wearing cheap sunglasses...they let in damaging UV rays into the eys and damage the cells in your eyes and body...its a double whammy effect...the cheap shades dont have the proper UV protection and the the dark lense actually widens the pupil and lets in more damage into the body
