I don't think there's any interaction between herpes and HepC. Having herpes doesn't cause any problems during HepC treatment. My guess would be that you have fewer herpes outbreaks during treatment because the interferon revs up your immune system, but that's just speculation on my part. Rockerforlife is right: the thing you need to do is stop drinking. Alcohol and HepC are a bad bad combination because they both produce liver damage. It's easier to get rid of the alcohol than the HepC, though hopefully eventually you'll get rid of both. Good luck.
I think you should be more concerned about drink a half bottle of wine everyday instead of a herpes virus...the booze will kill you faster that a cold sore...WAKE UP
To my knowledge there should be no complications.
It is known stress and poor health can trigger a herpes outbreak. There is (at least) 8 different types of herpes virus, which include chiken pox/zoster, roseola, epstien-Barr and CMV.
If you have HCV and herpes, I imagine you experience more than the usual amount of herpes flare-ups.
They are both viruses and only thing that should concern is having unprotected sex during an out break, especially if they are open sores, could cause transmission of both diseases.
I don't think anyone gets every question answered. Do a search in the archives if you don't get an answer. good luck
