BP meds stop working?

I have been on Lisinopril for about 3 years now. My BP has been at around 120-130 over 80-90 while on it. A few weeks ago I started getting a ringing in my left ear. About a week ago I started waking up with nose bleeds. Well, I thought that was due to allergies. I have nose bleeds a lot and have since I was a little one. Well, I have a lot of stress at work and I would get headaches by the end of the day. I just wrote it off as anxiety and stress since I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. Well, normally (before I was on Lisinopril) I would take my blood pressure like 3 times a week or more. I hadn't taken it in about 2 months. I took it this afternoon and it was 152 over 103. Is my medication not working anymore? Is this normal (not the BP, but meds not working)?

I was sitting down, very relaxed. I took it on each arm. Left arm was 152 over 103 and right arm was 154 over 104.

Was your reading of 152/103 a one time spike? BP is dynamic and changes from may different causes during the day including stress. If you take it multiple time and it remains that high, you should see you doctor as something has changed. The nice thing about BP meds is that there are several choicess o you can almost always find one that works for you.
