Why are you asked if you're taking any medications when you have chicken pox?

I've just got chicken pox. I was asked by the doctor if I was taking any medication (not for the chicken pox, other medication). I'm wondering why? Thanks.

Your doctor may have been thinking the rash was caused by an allergy to a drug rather than chicken pox since you usually get that as a child. But you can get it as an adult.  But they should be able to see the usual rash that chicken pox has. I guess they were surprised by an adult getting it and wanted to rule out drug allergy first.
