Penis Rash and itchy

So it started with a pinch at the tip of my penis (it felt like it was irritated while rubbing against my boxers.) A couple of days later the head of penis was red and irritated. No discharge, no pain during urination. Two weeks of this, I went to the doctors and he said it was a yeast infection. He prescribed a cream (clotrimazole). Once I started taking that, I started to get a sharp pain every now and then in my urethra and and itch every now and then too. Two weeks of taking the clotrimazole, it seems to be getting less red but the occasional itch and pain in the urethra is still there.

I had a recent bloating feeling and soreness in my lower abdomen and sides.

What could this be>?
