Sorry for the spelling errors. I'm trying out a new keyboard and I'm not liking it.
I found what you said interesting. The combination of your symptoms suggest an section of the brain that could be key to unlocking your triggers. I Gooled on the following: Yawning AND Brain. Look for "Yawning may cool brain when needed-USAToday"dot" com. The article give some interesting clues. Then I Gooled "Amygdala brain for seeing images of the brain. You'll notice the close proximity of the thalamus. The thalamus is what controls our body temperature. Other structures are nearby as well. Given the sinus is adjacent it appears that something in this region seems to trigger your migraines.
I would also ask if you experienced any headache/migraine pain during the time period of March 2-3 through 5? Especially with this latest storm. Thanks for any reply. Also please excuse any social media ineptness on my part as I'm rather new it so I need to find my way around this stuff (friending, etc.).
Hi Eddie.
I would say that almost 98% of the time when I get prodrome it's about 6hrs.-1 day before my migraine. I am on beta-blockers to make it less likely that I will have one, but of course nothing works all the time and I still get them from time to time. I am on sumatriptan for when I do get them. My insurance covers it but only 10 for a month of the sumatriptan. Anyway, I think you can predict the migraines with the prodrome and aura symptoms. I do not have aura's so I don't get the vision problems or anything. I know I'm having a prodrome when my neck is stiff, with nose congestion, chills, and a lot of yawning. I also know that if these things are not together but seperate, that it is not a prodrome. That is kinda why I posted this question. I knew that when a prodrome comes the migraine headache is not long off. So, can you do anything while in prodrome that can stop the headache from coming? Well, if you want to talk more about mit just friend me and we can talk more one on one. Hope to hear from you soon, and good luck. God bless
There could be a number of symptoms. One in which I can determine my wife exhibits is to become anxious and easily tempered. Others could be an aura. I usually see a tiny crystal like bright light spot followed by distorted zig-zag vision. It doesn't always end up as a migraine but I have also been able to train myself to visualize smothering the light. Many times it seems to work.
Also, consult with your Doctor as to whether it is safe for you to take prescription medication like Triptans etc, at this stage. Unfortunately it's a fine line between taking medication at the right time but expensive if at the wrong time because of their cost.
By the way, would you consider answering a post below yours that deals with the ability to predict when a migraine might hit you. In other words would such a thing be valuable or beneficial to you? Thanks for your help as well.
