Everyday Headaches

I've been having headaches every day and some are unbearable while others aren't as bad. Light and sound make them worse. I thought at first it was because I wasn't wearing my glasses, but even after wearing them everyday I still continued to have the headaches. The pain in right in my forehead area. It can be very painful. Then after a while they begin to make me feel like I'm going to throw up. My question is that I was wondering if this is something I should go to the doctor for or not. Tylonal and other medicines don't seem to affect it.

I would definitely go to your doctor as there are many medicines that you may find great relief from!  How much Tylenol and other OTC meds do you take?  If you take a lot of those you can get what they call "medication overuse headaches".  These can often be worse than the headaches that  you started off with in the beginning.  My old headache doc said that I could take ibuprofen  3X a week.   My new doc said that is way too much.  Too much of these meds can turn episodic headaches into chronic headaches.  Since you are having this many headaches it would probably be a good idea to ask your doctor about getting on a preventative medication.  They can lessen the frequency and severity of your attacks.  Some types of meds that can help are some blood pressure meds and some seizure meds.  It also would be a good idea to have an abortive on hand like one of the triptans.  These include Imitrex, Zomig, etc.  If you take one of these when you feel a migraine coming on, you can usually head it off at the pass. They also treat the symptoms that accompany migraine like light and sound sensitivity, nausea, etc.  Some foods can trigger migraines as well.  Too much caffeine can be a big one for some people.  I hardly ever do caffeine, but when I feel a migraine coming on, I will drink a coke and sometimes it will help.  Good sleep habits are also important.  Too much or too little can really trigger headaches.  Hope your doctor can help you or can refer you to a good doc that can.  Good luck  -  Kayleen
