Hi,
If it persists despite lowering your salt intake, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation and to rule out organic diseases I have mentioned. Wishing you good health always! Best regards.
Thanks for the help guys. My salt intake is pretty high, and I'm fairly certain that is what was behind it.
Hi,
How are you? Some exertion headache sufferers take abortive medicine before the specific activity to prevent the full blown attack. This is different from the maintenance medications that is take regularly. Others have complimentary and alternative medicine like biofeedback therapy to help them out. Talk to your doctor about this. Healthy lifestyle including a low salt diet and regular exercise also help in bringing down the blood pressure. Take care and warm regards.
I had these and they were a forerunner to an aneurysm. Now I'm paying $50 a month to keep my blood pressure down, and no sex. I live, but I don't enjoy it.
Hi,
Exertion headaches are generalized head pain during or following physical or passive exertion. This includes running, lifting, sexual intercourse and even when sneezing, coughing, or moving one's bowels. Majority of the cases are related to migraine or cluster headaches. 10% is caused by organic diseases such as aneurysms, tumors, or blood vessel malformation. The cause must be accurately determined and if it persists, additional diagnostic tests like CT scan is done. It can be treated with prescription drugs including aspirin, indomethacin, or propranolol. Preventive medicines may also be taken before any exertion is done. Have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Alternative forms of exercise may be indicated. Take care and best regards.
