Face numbness???

I am 20 years old and in pretty good shape. I have always had really bad headaches. From the time I wake up till I go to bed, sometimes they even wake me up at night. I went to the doctor and he said I was addicted to otc headache meds. But with the headaches the left side of my head feels tingly and the left side of my face goes numb. Usually it only happens sometimes. But for the past 2 days it has not stopped and nothing is helping my headaches ... What could this possibly be?

Yes, you should see a neurologist to get it checked out.  But if you take any pain reliever more than 2 times a week, you are going to get continual rebound migraines.  The neurologist might prescribe a daily preventative migraine medication instead which does not cause the rebound migraines. Good luck.

Hi, I always get face numbness or pins and needles in the whole of my face when I have a migraine.  I have always accepted that it is part of it.

Hi,
How are you? Do you still experience the symptoms you mentioned? If you do not have history of head or neck trauma, this could be due to a variety of issues including side effect of pain medications as mentioned or primary headaches such as migraine, tension or cluster headaches. There are also variants of migraine headache that could present with numbness and other neurological issues that should be ruled out by your doctor. A referral to a neurologist may also help. Imaging studies such as CT scan or MRI  may also help rule out organic issues. Take care and do keep us posted.
