Hi,
Migraines can be triggered by food items like caffeine, red wine, processed meats, cheese, chick peas, and chocolates. Apart from these bright light, loud noisy places, physical and emotional stress can also stimulate migraine attack.
I would suggest you to consult your family doctor about it. You may need medications like imitrex. Apart from medications magnesium supplements, biofeedback therapy and breathing exercises will also help.
Hi,
Thanks doc...for your prompt reply.
I know very little about migraine and when I was discussing this some of my friends said that I probably had migraine so I had put this question.
Having identified it, kindly let me know what is its cause and in future how I could start working towards reducing it to a minimum.
Is there any tests to be taken...How could I reduce the swelling of the eyeball and eliminate blurred vision.
Hi,
How are you?
Yes you are right; this is very likely a migraine headache. Migraine can be triggered by sleep deprivation and stress both physical and emotional.
The classic symptoms are throbbing headache on one side of the head associated with neck stiffness, nausea and blurred vision.
I would suggest you to avoid caffeine, and make sure you sleep for at least 8 hrs every night. When you get these attacks lie down in a quiet room and apply cold compresses too head and neck. OTC pain killers work very well in migraine.
Take care!
