You can ask your wife to do these breathing exercises everyday. If the headache does not go away in 6 weeks, then seek further medical help.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How is your wife?  If the headaches recur after medicine intake, your wife may benefit from further tests like CT scan to identify the underlying cause as well as to rule out anatomical issues. It would also help if the triggers are known such as food, weather changes, etc.  so that she can avoid them in the future. She should also refrain from taking over-the-counter medications regularly because these can lead to rebound headaches. Check with your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.

Zaigham72,

A visit to your Doctor or arrange to see a Neurologist is your best solution.  My hunch is that your wife is suffering from a type of Migraine because of your description.  A Doctor can better tell you what type and provide much better medication than over the counter medicines.    For example, Maxalt is a type of Migraine medication available by prescription.  Also, Zofran is a medication that can help stop vomiting.   It is difficult to watch a loved one suffer from these headaches while we watch and wait helplessly.  I've witnessed my wife, my mother, and my grandmother in law suffer from debilitating migraines.

Just out of curosity and for research purposes, does your wife work in a environment where there are overhead flourscent lights or numerous electric motors like in a sewing factory?  Also are there high voltage electrical lines or electrical transformers very close to your home?

Thanks for providing any answers to the above questions.  Good luck and be well!
