To everyone,
Just a short note to let you know about a research trial ongoing UK that is still recruiting.  The clinical trial is looking into the possibility that folk such as us who have bad/ treatment resistant migraine could possibly have a heart defect that allows tiny molecules to travel the wrong way via the circulation and could be triggering migraines. The research is looking to determine if these usually harmless defects (called PFO) are why certain migraineurs remain resistant to treatment. I'm signed up to have investigations if your wondering how I know about it and similar trials are occurring across the world. Google Prima trial

The one I'm signed up to is called -; The Role of Venous-to-Arterial Circulation Shunts and Spontaneous Cerebral Emboli in Migraine. The Northwest Migraine v-acs Study.
Link  http://www.surgery.man.ac.uk/migraine/research-team.asp

For me this has given me some hope that maybe just maybe there is something that can be done, and even if I dont have this PFO well thats one more thing Ive looked into that I can cross of the list!! The uk trial is still recruiting for anyone who is interested.
Now certain about Us.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

I do understand how frustrating and how hard this is for you. Have you been thoroughly assessed with regards to your headaches? Were blood tests done to check for coagulation factor levels and bleeding parameters? Also, was an EKG done and were other tests done to check cardiac function?

Something natural and free and no side effects.Do it and your migraine will disappear gradually over a period of upto 4 months
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom -  Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep breaths into the lungs.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 15 times

I HAVE HAD THE BOTOX SHOOTS LAST WEEK.  WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SO NECK PAIN, IT WORKS!!!! FOR THE FIRST TIME AS FAR BACK AS I CAN REMEMBER I HAVE NOT HAD A HEADACHE FOR A WEEK .  I HAVE NOT TAKEN A IMETREX SHOT OR PILL.  IT IS AMAZING.  THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THE COST 600 FOR THE BOTOX AND 200 FOR THEM TO INJECT IT.  BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT.  I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER.

HI THERE!! i as well know that oyu are going through. i am 26 years old and have suffered from migraines for YEARS! i use to get 4 per week. it was sooo awful!! i ve been on all the same medication as you, and have also been to the chiropracter, massage therapist AND physiotherapist. the physio helped me the most, i went for almost 8 months. i am currently pregnant and havent been getting them very often, thank god!!  i know a few people who have suffered from migraines in the past and have gotten acupuncture done. apparently it worked for them. i checked into it for myself and it is ss safe that i can get it done while being pregnant. i am definately gonna get it done after i have the baby, because my headaches heave subsided a lot right now.
have you had MRI's and CT-scans done? what about face xrays??  my mri and ct scan showed up clear... but my xray showed that i have a lot of excess fluid in my sinuses that has been causing a lot of pressure... and migraines.

Dear Cherbencosme,
I know exactly where your coming from.  I am a 35 year old mother of 2 and have had Cluster Migraine's since I was 9 years old.  I have taken all the meds above and am now on Topamax x5-a day. I also take Wellbutrin XL and the combination seems to help, somewhat.  I am in such pain at times, that I have to go to the Hospital and get shots to get knocked out.  If you find out anything. . .please let me know.  I live with the pain, as well.  I normally have a migraine or extremely "bad" headache at least 4 times a week.  And during one, I am unable to function.  It totally puts me down.  There are times that I try to work thru it, but it just makes me so-o-o-o sick!  I do feel your pain and hope you will find something that works for you.

P.S. I work with a lady whose daughter-in-law has Migraine's as bad, if not worse that mine.  She was recently pregnant and did not have the 1st one during her pregnancy.  But, every case is different. Good Luck!
