Headaches everyday,, :(

i have been getting a headache almost everyday for the past week, my exams are in a few months time and although i am a bright student i hardly read - that may be a miracle..
anyways, i feel i have to read more often but whenever i think of studying i get this headache just above my eyes.. i take pain killers after which the headache disappears..
at times i fell its because of too much stress on my brain but my parents think it's because of the way i watch TV (lying down) could you please let me know if there is something seriously wrong with me? i don't want to keep on having pain killers as i am afraid i might develop resistance to them..
please help..

and please contact me

i am looking forward to a response! :)

well, since i posted this i have had just one headache..
idk why they stopped but i do know i googled "ways to pass in your exams"  and found out that i shouldn't read for 5hours a day but a total of 7hours a week.. that sort of relieved me and my headaches stopped..
I had a headache a couple of days back but instead of taking a pain killer i had a cup of green tea.. about half an hour later i was okay.. and didn't have any headaches ever since

okay, i have one today but its coz i didn't get enough sleep last night..

i really appreciate the help
i'll keep you updated

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Aside from rebound headaches, this could also be due to primary headaches such as tension headache and eye issues such as error of refraction. Tension headaches usually present with pressure around the head also. Rest and ice pack and pain medications may help. However, with the risk of a rebound headache, if it persists, check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hello young lady,
I don't think you should be taking "pain killers" for your headache...that's only stopping the pain but not "solving the problem."
Do you have any allergy issues or sinus problems?
Ent Dr. would be a start for you..and I agree with Sara (we spoke Sara last year) that lying down isn't going to change a thing. If you don't want to see an ENT doctor, I'd suggest you stick to OTC tylenol, or advil until you get professional advice. Any pain killer will relieve you but it isn't helping you find the answer.
Rest..Thank God you o,k with that. Keep a chart of what you eat or do when these headaches occur...charting daily  may give you some clues, allergies you may just beginning to have.. food, etc. Has something in your environment changed..new dog, cat, etc. mold...new food you added to your menu?
.My best to you and take care..Please, try to stay off the pain killers and try OTC for a few weeks...then see an ENT DR. Good luck.

I hope that someone else responds to you with more information than I have to offer.  You are right that if you take any kind of pain reliever, even OTC ones, you can promote rebound headaches.

If your headaches continue, you would benefit from taking a daily prophylactic medication to stop the headaches from occuring.

You don't say how severe your headaches are or whether headaches are a brand new thing for you.  If so, you probably should have a doctor check you which may involve a CT scan to determine if there may be something more severe happening to you.

I had sudden severe headaches which pain killers finally did not relieve.  It turned out to be the start of a major stroke which came 4 weeks later, which IS NOT TO SAY that's going to happen to you.

BTW, I haven't noticed watching TV lying down to affect my headaches at all.

Good luck to you.
