Scared and need advice!

Hi

I have been suffering from a headache for over a week now.  I have prescribed ibuprofen from the doc but to be honest it does not help.  It feels as though i have alot of pressure in my head, behind my eye, temples nd base of my head.  I am so scared that it may be an anuyrsm! I have not slept properly since it has started.  Would 2 doctors be able to diagnose an anuyrsm?  The looked behind my eyes, took blood pressure and made me touch my nose with my finger.....any comments would really put my mind at ease, I cant go on with this worry, I know tht sometimes if you catch these things early something can be done!..also I have no other symptoms, just this headache!

Thanks alot

Lizzy

No vomiting, although I have felt very anxious and slight nauseaus at times.  I have no vision problems or numbness.  I was on a flight two weeks ago? Would this be a risk factor? I have explained my symptoms to the two doctors who did not seem concerned, would I need to display any other symptoms before being sent for a scan?  Also this may sound rash but can exessive worrying cause something in ur hed to rupture?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Have you any headaches prior to this episode?

Were there any associated nausea or vomiting, doubling of vision, slurring of speech or numbness in the face or extremities?

Any history of aneurysms in the family?

An aneurysm is diagnosed based on a complete medical history and with the help of imaging scans. Usually a cerebral angiography is used to screen patients with a significant family history of aneurysms.

I know you are highly anxious. Discuss your concerns with your physician. Other differentials for your headache is the common migraine and tension headaches. You may ask your doctor regarding abortive therapy for migraines. Your doctor will be able to help in classifying your headache.
