Midijane, thank you for the reply! It really helped knowing that I'm not the only one struggling with this and feeling like a baby. I'm feeling better today - able to keep down fluid and meds, able to sleep last night after the pain and sensitivities subsided.
I am pretty sure that my migraine is hormone-related. I never had any migraine before in my life. This happened after my miscarriage 11 weeks ago. I still don't have my period although my lining is very thick and estrogen is high with low progesterone due to lack of ovulation. I read that too high an estrogen level can trigger severe migraines that last longer and don't respond to meds well because the underlying hormone condition is still there.
I still have no period although been having cramps. Now I'm feeling this weird sensation on my neck and scalp. I hope it's just the migraine hangover and not the start of a recurring attack.
You're doing everything right. A cool dark quiet room, hot showers, cold compresses, over the counter medicine.
I have occasional migraines that usually last 24 hrs followed by a day of a low grade headache and major scalp tenderness. I've been in tears before and desperate for anything to help.
I'd call my Primary doc once this passes and get some medicine in case it happens again. Or you can always go to the ER for immediate relief. Just take your sunglasses if you do.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Feel better soon.
