brain freeze

I have suffered from headaches for years and 5 months ago i had a baby. When in labour something in the top of my head popped and i got a brain freeze.  They monitored me but i was okay.  I had headaches at the top left hand side, and also suffered some dizziness.  This went away but is now back.  It now feels a bit like a chill in my head at the top middle side. I have been to the doctora a few times and they just said it sounds like a nerve thing.  Should i be doing anything else?

Was a scan done? At least a baseline scan was requested?Any other associated symptoms lke severe head pain, vomiting, increase pressure inside the head?Any ringing in the ears or vision problems?

This may not be an urgent matter given that there is no progression of symptoms. Maintain follow up with your physicians and open a good line of communication with them.At this point, observe your symptoms.In the presence of severe pain, vomiting , visual symptoms and other neurologic deficits , it is best to get an immediate consult.

No scan was done.  I sometimes feel a bit sick but that comes and goes.  Sometimes i get sharp shooting pains but that also comes and goes.

At this point it is best to observe for any progression of symptoms. I seem to agree with your physician that this may be nerve related. Other differentials will be a hemicrania continua, occipital neuralgia, paroxysmal hemicrania .However , these are unlikely to be your case.

There might be no need for further evaluation right now. Keep a healthy lifestyle. Eat  balanced meal with fruits and vegetables for a good source of vitamins and minerals.Keep  a regular exercise regimen to improve circulation.
