Migrains all over

I've been having  migraines  on and off for almost a month now which is odd because I usually only get them with my period. My stomach has been awful too.  I think they are hormone related.

Some times it feels like migraines all over my body, my arm, leg, etc.  Dose this have a name?

Well do to my stomach issues I'm afraid to take pain relievers.  I cant have caffeine, it really messes me up. I'm not going to take a med with heart attacks as a symptom, as I've read that is the case with some. What can I do or take to help myself?

I have never had a migraine until I got implanon. I'm thinking of having it removed but then I'll need to find another treatment for my PCOS / heavy periods.  I just don't know what to do.... Any advice please, some one?

Hi,
How are you? If the migraine headaches started after you had your implanon, then this is indeed more likely be the cause. But there is such a thing as menstrual headaches which are migraine-type pain that occurs shortly before, during, or immediately after menstruation and also at mid-cycle at time of ovulation. This is usually caused by variances in estrogen levels. Vasoconstrictors and/or anti-inflammatory drugs taken before and during menstrual period may prevent headaches.Talk to your gynecologist about this for alternative management of your PCOS. Migraines may be relieved with rest, ice packs, prescription medications and more importantly avoiding the triggers that may be responsible.

Hi,
How are you? were you able to see your gynecologist? Removal of the Implanon seems a good idea. Discuss the risks and benefits of the NovaSure procedure with your doctor. This procedure is indicated for heavy bleeding and uses radio frequency (RF) energy to permanently remove the lining of the uterus. This reduces or eliminates future bleeding. Take care always.

Hi,

I did immediately, they told me to stop taking it. Going to see my OBGYN tomorrow. I'm thinking that I'll have Implanon removed very soon but until then take vitamins C E and B along with 75mg asprin. Also thinking about having the NovaSure procedure.  Thanks again!

Hi,
I hope you are feeling better now. If you have bad reactions to Macrobid, inform your doctor about this for proper management. You can also try complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback therapy to control your headache. This has been recommended by the National Institute of Health and has helped a lot of other headache sufferers as well. Take care always and do keep us posted.
