Really need more information about how often you get your headaches.
You should not take any pain relief pills 3 times a week of more, otherwise you will get rebound headaches.
If you do have headaches at least 3x a week, then you need to be taking a prophylactic daily med to prevent the headaches. Have you tried any of these meds? If so, I have other ideas for you.
And if they are that often you should see a neurologist to see about testing to rule out something more serious.
Please give more detail, then I can be much more helpful.

I have a friend that has dealt with debilitating migraines all of her life and she swears that the prescription drug Maxalt is the only thing that is effective for her and she has tried many medications including imitrex. She told me they are dissolvable tablets such that if you get sick and vomit, you won't vomit up the medication. I will get a migraine headache every once in a blue moon and I take the regular OTC stuff for it. I used to get them everyday in high school (15 years ago) but I found out it was due to TMJ and I started wearing a splint to correct my jaw and after my jaw was corrected, the migraines disappeared. But if you are having them on a daily basis along with rebound headaches (those are the absolute worst I know!), you might want to ask your doctor about Maxalt.
