Vibrations in my left leg

I am wondering why I feel a vibration in my left leg.  When it first started I thought it was my cell phone ringing but my phone was not in my pocket.  I feel the vibration all day long and it has a pattern to it.  It is a weired feeling and I can not figure out what causes this and why it will not go away.  Can you tell me why I feel this?

I am having the same exact problem with my right leg.  Just like you, I kept thinking it was my cell phone starting to ring (mine vibrates first) but it was my leg.  I had to see my oncologist yesterday (bc survivor) and he said it did not sound like a cancer symptom (thank goodness).  He thinks I should see a neurologist if it continues.

I hope one of the docs answers your question here, so we can get more information.

I am getting the same vibrations in my left leg and I too thought it was my cell phones.  I have already been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis ((degenerative arthritis) is a joint disease caused by the breakdown and loss of the cartilage of one or more joints.)).
I feel quite sure this is a symptom of it, but with the pain I am having in that leg at the hip and the vibrations down the leg, I need relief, not diagnosis.

I am already taking arthritis medication, though it appears that may need to try another type to address this issue.  I am also taking over the counter Glucosamine and chronditin, which are combined supplements that are suppose to help regenerate the cartilage around the joints that causes osteo-arthritis.  The first 2 -3 months, it all seems to be helping greatly, but these past 2 months, it's like I am not taking anything at all.  And now, the skin under my fingernails are splitting and drying and painful.  All of this is related to the arthritis as well.
So if any of you find relief, post it.  I need it.

I am glad I found this post.  I was hit by a drunk driver almost 8 years ago.  I sustained several inuries that resulted in several titanium implants.  One of my worst injuries was a double compoud fracture to my left femur.  The scar tissue has adhered nearly to the bone in my thigh.  To this day, I can't even stand to have someone blow air on it.  I have a lot of nerve damage throughout my arms and legs.  I also have a great deal of pain.

A have new and strange sensations almost on a daily basis.  I was told 7 years ago, that I was the best I would ever be, and it was basically downhill for me at that point.  Although, I don;t let it slow me down, and I rarely complain or even limp.  I don't have time for that.  But there are times, like today, where I just want to sit and cry because of all of the pain.

One new addition is this strange vibration in my left leg, where I had the horrible fracture.  I kept thinking that my cell phone was near my leg, but it wasn't.  This weird sensation is actually going on right now.  I just attribute everything to the severity of my injuries and nerve damage.  But, should anyone find anything else new about this, please post.  My next doctor visit may be to a neurologist, which has been a long time coming.  I'm glad to hear that there are others experiencing the same thing.  Sometimes I think it has to be in my head.  For everyone's sake, I just hope it is nothing significant.

Hi there, Is the sensation u have true vibration or more like pins & needles? If it is truly vibration, I have had it in my pelvic area & down both my legs for almost 2 months now! It has increased more & more every few days! I finally got my mri results last week & I will now be having back surgery on Monday morning, due to 3 herniated disc that are compressing nerves in my spine!May I ask u some ?'s?? How long have u had the vibrations?have u had any tingling, numbness??How about the pins & needles I mentioned before? Pain of any degree? U should keep track(i'd write it down!) when this started,so u know how long it has lasted, & write any new sensations /symptoms..no matter how minor u think they are! They may increase rapidly, I know from experience & it helps to know all this stuff! Of course there is probably many possibilities for the cause of this, but I can tell you nerve impengement is definitely 1 of them!! Do u have any back problems?back pain?  Best of luck to ya,Brandy

Hi, It could be muscle fassicuation( twitch ), or too much stress to leg bone. Have you seen a neurophysician to get investigated. What is the duration since it started and how is it progressing. Are you diabetic/hypertensive/smoker or consume alcohol regularly.
Please update about the visit.
Take care.

Wow, I'm amazed that I found a group of people having the same issue.
It started last Friday and I kept thinking it was my cell phone and today I realized it wasn't the phone, because it wasn't in my pocket. So yes, I have lower back pain too. This is my left leg and you can't feel the vibration from the outside, only from the inside. Any idea how it worsens?
When I should see a doctor?

I have had a vibration in my right leg for about 2 months now, Sometimes it isnt there, sometimes I think a motor is running on the same floor I am standing on. My Left thigh also has a knumb area about 3" circle not totally knumb and the doc says I probably have a damaged nerve. The Vibration thing sounds the same as many and isnt enough to stop me from doing anything, easy to forget about it as well.
Also have ringing in the ears that comes and goes, I'm 52 and in otherwise great shape. The vibration is confusing

It's gotta be stress related.  I started having this about 4 days ago.  It comes and goes.  It's a vibration much like a pager which cycles on and off in about 2 second increments for a couple of minutes, goes away, then comes back again.  It seems to come from inside my right quad about halfway between my knee and hip.  I cannot feel the vibration with my hand and it is not a muscle twitch.  I started a really stressful job about 3 months ago and have developed this and a strange lower-eyelid twitch in my left eye, so I assume they're both stress related.  I'm gonna drink a beer and calm down.

Everyone on here seems to have the same symptoms but no body has any answers to what it might be.  Anyone out there with any diagnosis??

My vibration is apparently in exactly the same location as yours is.  You sound like you are describing my leg exactly.  I have no other symptoms, no eye twitch, no back pain, and no really stressful job.  I wondered if it were hormones or the extra 20# i carry cutting off circulation or nerves.  I am active and healthy and only in my early 40s.  My vibration feels like someone letting air out of an inflated balloon rapidly in 2-10 second intervals.  I had wondered if it was a circulation problem but I have no other circulation symptoms.  Who has been to doctors about their problem and what sorts of doctors have been consulted?

I'm a 54 yr old male. Healthy - no back issues - vegetarian, exerciser etc. Just started getting the "cell phone" vibration in my outside right hip/thigh area an inch or two in - 1 sec on, 2-3 seconds off, about 2 days ago.
Pretty distracting if I'm sitting still or lying down - if it keeps up for any length of time will check out chiropractic and/or homeopathy and/or acupuncure and/or neurologist, etc. Will advise if I find out anything!
