I don't know what to do.

Every few months I get ovarian cysts. It started a year ago when I got sudden pain and they sent me to the ER. They said they are fluid filled so all I can do is take pain relievers and wait for them to rupture or go away.
I've had several trips back to the ER for these cysts because they mimic symptoms of appendicitis.
While I'm at the hospital, they realize that the only pain killers that help are the really strong ones (the ones that make you all loopy). Nothing else even makes a dent in the pain. I take Naproxen Sodium like crazy (which isn't very good for my stomach but they tell me it's supposed to help the pain) and it doesn't help.  Right now I got the same sudden pain and I'm not sure what to do. The only place that gives me (almost) immediate relief is the ER because they have strong enough meds. But I don't want to worry my parents or family members, plus the ER is costly (and supposed to be for life threatening things, not people in severe pain).

So, I don't know what to do.

Background:
I'm 19, they tell me that my cysts have a tendency to be quite large and sometimes have multiple ones at the same time, I'm not yet on birth control but am considering it to help prevent this.

BC pills might help....IUD not a good idea.  A good gynecologist....priceless.

Did they call them Hemorrhagic cysts? I'm 38 but have the same condition. It's annoying but not life-threatening. Of course, I am not experiencing the same level of pain with them. Please discuss this with a proper OB/GYN. If you are not already on birth control, BCP can actually help in a lot of cases or, more extreme, an IUD. Again, this is an extreme measure but, with the kind of pain you are experiencing, could make it stop. I AM NOT A DR.! Please seek the help of a GYN. This is not uncommon and totally treatable.
