WONDERING????

I WENT TO THE ER YESTERDAY BECAUSE MY PAIN WAS SO INTENSE AND THEY DID THE TRANSVAGINAL US ON ME AND FOUND MY LEFT OVARY TO BE ENLARGED AND A CYST.  THIS IS THE DX FROM THE ER US I HAD:

LEFT OVARY MEASURES 9.0 x 6.7 x 5.12cm FOR A VOLUME OF 161 ML.  THERE IS AN 8.5 x 6.3 x 5.0 cm anechoic cystic mass involving the left ovary, with internal debris.  There is a small amount of free fluid adjacent to the left ovary.  I also have mild right HYDRONEPHROSIS.  

THE ER DOC SPOKE WITH GYN AND SAID I HAVE TO HAVE IMMEDIATE SURGERY AND TOLD ME THAT SINCE MY GYN WAS NOT IN NETWORK WITH THE HOSPITAL I WAS AT THAT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL TUESDAY TO GET A SURGERY DATE.  IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THIS MIGHT BE PLEASE A LITTLE HELPFUL ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT.  THE ER DOC WOULD NOT TELL ME ANYTHING HE JUST SAID THAT GYN WOULD DISCUSS EVERYTHING WITH ME.  I'M A NERVOUS WRECK.  THANK YOU ALL

Good luck on your surgery.  Mine is on the 6th so hopefully I can update you before you head in.  I hope they have given you some good pain meds.  Do take them, soak in a nice warm bath and try to rest.

Hang in there and see what your doctor says Monday. I know it is extremely hard to wait.  I am hoping that they will get you into surgery sooner too, it sounds like you need it.  Please let us know what they tell you and I will keep you in my prayers,

You just hang in there!! I know it's just terrible with all the waiting but you will know more on Monday correct?? Let us know what on earth is going on.. And don't worry about  "babbling" .. just hang in there.. drop us a line anytime and we're here... Oh, and by the way---- isn't really important, but if you could write in smaller case, it is easier to read.. no big deal-- but with my eyesight, I need all the help I can get.. Thanks.. I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL GROUP, THE CYSTER GROUP THAT IS, LOL.  TO ALL OF YOU ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ALL OF US THAT NEED ALL OF YOUR KIND WORDS IN DESPIRATION.  I WENT ON FRIDAY, YESTERDAY, TO HAVE ANOTHER TV/US ORDERED BY MY DOC BEFORE SURGERY.  DURING THE US THEY SAID THAT THE MASS COVERS MY ENTIRE PELVIC REGION.  I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD BE.. I AM AT A COMPLETE LOSS RIGHT NOW.  THE US TECH TALKED TO THE HEAD GYN AND HE CAME IN AND PUT ME ON COMPLETE BED REST AND STATED THAT I DO NOTHING UNTIL SEEN BY MY REGULAR GYN ON MONDAY.  I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT SCHEDULED TO HIM BUT I AM SCHEDULED TO HAVE SURGERY ON THE 11TH AND THE HEAD GYN TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO SEE MY GYN ON MONDAY AND THAT SURGERY CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE 11TH.  OK SO BY THIS TIME I AM SO TOTALLY CONFUSED.  THE MASS IS SO BIG THAT THEY CANNOT FIND OUT WHICH OVARY ITS ON.  FIRST THE ER TOLD ME IT WAS ON THE LEFT, NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY CANNOT DETERMINE WHICH SIDE IT IS ON.  GEEZ.  IN SO MUCH PAIN AND I CANNOT STAND TO SIT STILL BUT I AM LISTENING TO THE DOCTORS.  I HAVE NOT EATEN ANYTHING FOR 3 DAYS NOW B/C EVERYTHING MAKES ME SICK.  I HAVE LOST ALOT OF WEIGHT HOWEVER I STILL LOOK PREGO.  IS ANY OF THIS MAKING SINCE TO ANY OF YOU OR ARE YOU JUST AS CONFUSED AS ME???  SORRY FOR BABBELING BUT I'M KINDA LOST FOR WORDS.  GOD BLESS TO ALL THANK FOR LISTENING.  BRE

Oh my - we really are "cysters".  I'm having my ovaries out on June 11 too!  AND I have four kids who really depend on me.  Mine are all grown now and have presented me with NINE grandkids who all depend on me.   Oh my!!!  I'm praying for you sister.  Hang in there and keep us posted!

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE SUPPORT AND THE HELPFUL WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.  I WENT TO THE DOC ON TUESDAY AND HE SCHEDULED ME FOR SURGERY ASAP.  WHICH IS ON THE 11TH OF JUNE.  HE WANTED TO GET ME IN SOONER HOWEVER I REQUESTED THAT HE WAIT UNTIL MY KIDS GOT OUT OF SCHOOL.  I AM HAVING MY LEFT OVARY, FALLOPIAN TUBE, AND THE MASS REMOVED.  HE TELLS ME THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW IF HE WILL REMOVED THE RIGHT ONE OR NOT DEPENDING ON HOW THINGS LOOK WHEN HE GETS IN THERE.  HE IS DOING A LAPOROTOMY.......  HE IS GOING TO FREEZE THE MASS AND SEND IT TO PATHOLOGY DURING SURGERY SO WHEN I GET OUT THEY WILL KNOW IF I HAVE CANCER OR NOT.  WHEN ASKING HIM ABOUT THE CANCER HE SAID HE COULD NOT TELL IF IT WAS OR NOT AND HE IS NOT RULING IT OUT AT THIS TIME.  ONLY GOD KNOWS AND I AM LEAVING IT IN HIS HANDS.  THE ONLY THING I'M WORRIED ABOUT IS THE KIDS AFTER THE SURGERY AS I HAVE 4 OF THEM THAT WILL GO CRAZY IF  I'M NOT ON MY TOES LOL.  THE LAPOROTOMY IS NOT SCARY BECAUSE I HAVE HAD THE PARTIAL HYST. AND TWO C-SECTIONS.  I'M JUST TRYING TO BE POSITIVE.  THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND I'M PRAYING FOR ALL OF YOU AS I KNOW YOU ALL WILL BE PRAYING FOR ME.  BRE

I'm 7 weeks post hyst/ooph for a large dermoid and mature teratoma on my ovary.
All benign.  We're here to support each other through the questions, the pain and the worry.  We're "cysters"...

Please keep us posted on what happens at the doctor today, and you'll be in my prayers.

I agree that intense pain sounds like a twist, I had that and it was not fun. I hope it's the last of it for you...you will feel better after surgery both physically because the cyst is out and mentally because you will then know what you are dealing with. Make sure to ask them about the biopsy plan beforehand so you can find out what your dealing with.

The good news is that you went to the ER and got an answer for the pain and now you are heading in the right direction with your visit to the doctor.  From what I have read on the posts on here, they usually want to do surgery on a cyst that size; however, most cysts are benign.  I think 95%.  Try not to worry, you should be getting some answers soon.  Let us know what your doctor says today,

That's fine. You can vent on here anytime you want! And, we work closely with the OVca forum. Most of us belong to both forums. This "cyst" forum is fairly new. We all were on the OvCa forum, but then Medhelp realized there was really a need for the cyst forum.. But you can still post over there as well . It's just that at first,if cysts have been diagnosed, think you'll get more information here . God willing, you'll stay on the Cyst forum and hang around to help others with cysts.. If it is felt that it's more than cysts, you would go over to the Ovca forum. (We don't want that).. Have I thoroughly confused you?? Hope not.. get some rest and "talk " to you tomorrow,

YES I AM UPSET.  I JUST DIDN'T KNOW IF SOMEONE REPORTED IT AS WRONG OR SOMETHING... JUST ANNOYED IN GENERAL. TIRED OF THE WAITING GAME AND SCARED OUT OF MY WITS.  I WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY BE CANCER THAT IS WHY I POSTED OVER THERE BECAUSE I WANTED TO KNOW IF THE SIZE WAS NORMAL FOR A REGULAR CYST OR NOT.  YOU KNOW HOW IT IS WHEN YOUR WAITING AND IN PAIN EVERYTHING ANNOYS YOU.. Hi,
     Is your appointment this Tuesday (tomorrow) or next week? Just try to relax . . I know that is so hard when we are afraid. What concerns me is the intense pain since some of these larger cysts can "twist" .. Please keep us posted and try not to worry too much..
