What Other Diagnosis Do You Have With Your Cysts?

I find it interesting that many of us have had other issues that may or may not contribute to our cyst problems.  I wanted to use the new poll functionality to see what your answers are.  Polls can be created by anyone, not just Community Leaders.

I have hypothyroid.  I didn't see any listing for whether fibriods were included in "other", so didn't pick that.  I guess I should have...  Oh well.

I had a open myomectomy in '01 where 4 orange and grapefruit sized fibroids were removed, and still have small 1-2 cm fibroids.  I've had functional cysts that have self-resolved in the past.

Painful irregular periods whenever I'm not on BCP's.

Interesting to see what all this shows. I have had:

Tubes tied - 20 years ago
hysterectomy last week, (enlarged uterus, and thickened cervix) diagnosed as adenomyosis and severe cervicitis
History of irregular periods...severe cramping/clotting/heavy bleeding
Recently had a hemmorhagic ovarian cyst that burst on its own...ouch
Gallbladder/half of liver/appendix removed in one surgery
overweight

I have had High Blood Pressure since late teens and currently on meds to control.
Tubal ligation, anemia, regular periods until 12 months ago.  My first cysts that I know of ruptured back in 2005.  Had laparoscopic surgery Nov 07 , no signs of endo, but did drain cysts on left ovary.  Symptoms now  back with a vengeance.  hoping to find some answers at my appt with ob/gyn on Thurs  and some support from this wonderful site I just discovered.

Yes you can increase weight with cysts.  I bloated and looked 6 months pregnant and put on about 10 lbs.  After surgery this did disappear and surprisingly, I am finding it a bit easier to lose weight now than before my surgery.  I have to wonder if those cysts were bothering me for quite some time.

Apparently, I had endo at some time, but I was never aware of it.  Don't know of other symptoms that might be related, but I have severe anemia, GERD, and yeast/urinary infections, enlarged uterus, enlarged endometrial stripe.

Endometriosis - (Well, until my gyn discovered my endometriosis while performing my laparoscopic surgery in 2004, I was not aware that I had a terrible case of endometriosis.)

Uterine Polyps - (Then, in late 2005, I once again had symptoms of a cyst, and at that TVU, I was diagnosed with uterine polyps, probably associated with the aforementioned  endometriosis, BUT they were new, post 2004 surgery)

Overweight

IBS

You know... I read something the other day that tied smoking to Ovarian Cysts too. Now, I don't know if that's scientific or not.. But I used to be a heavy smoker. . Of course, they tie smoking to just about everything don't they?

Also have: Osteoarthritis
                 Weight Issues (over)
                 IBS

Good post Trudie,
Sandy

I have had endo. since I was about 16.  I fortunately had no fertility issues and gave birth to two children but I had a hysterectomy in December of 07 due to an enlarged uterus and fibroids.  My uterus and cervix were removed and I kept both of my ovaries but now I am scheduled to have a complex cyst removed from my left ovary and it is likely I will lose the ovary as well.

I also find it interesting to see what other things are going on that might have a connection to the cysts.  In addition to the cysts, I have the following:
Hashimoto's disease
multiple thyroid nodules
fatty liver
hypoglycemia
Had a partial hysterectomy several years ago.
I look forward to seeing what others post!!
